Are there any specific conditions for the receipt of waste?
1. Waste Lubricating Oil (WLO)
Our company implements a comprehensive testing program to ensure the suitability of WLO. In cases where they are found to be out of specification or dangerous due to contamination, they are excluded from the collection process.
Specifically, the following are required:
-
They must be stored in appropriate packaging (barrels or tanks/not concrete) and concentrated in an accessible ground floor area, with a maximum distance of 20 meters from the tanker parking area
-
They must not be mixed with substances such as: used antifreeze, brake fluids, waste fuels, solvents or any other type of liquid waste, which must be managed separately
-
They must not contain PCBS and PCTS as well as fuel oil or other organic solvents that make them unsuitable for processing.
-
The moisture content must not exceed 4%. In case the above percentage is exceeded, the quantity of kilograms equal to the kilograms of water that exceed the above acceptable moisture limit is deducted from the total amount of collected ALE.
2. Other Hazardous Waste (HW)
Our company reserves the right not to accept HW that is not accompanied by the necessary information or whose packaging condition makes their handling unsafe. In this case, there is a possibility of receiving them for repackaging and further final management, with the cost being borne by the producer, which will be determined on a case-by-case basis
*In any case, the Producer is obliged to:
a) Provide all necessary information for the proper execution of the project, as well as any additional information requested by our company regarding the origin, nature, chemical composition and quantity of the waste
b) Ensure safe working conditions (suitability of building and mechanical installations) in the area where our staff will work, as well as provide any information, instructions, or applicable regulations in its facilities, regarding the health and safety of employees.
